Yes, it would. It would eliminate the needless effort to protect and defend everything we own.

Wouldn't it be great
if 'sharing without keeping' were a universal guideline?

yes you are right but i do want to be loved in return ..tell me if theres anyone who doesnt wish that ?even almigtht needs us, but we leave the though just because we are scared it might not be accepted. But yes the security & peace is there if you leave behind all the expectations. But then many of the basic needs are left unfulfilled and a great struggle begins to try n become something more than a human being.
I'm not that worried because i know he cares and loves but wont say until we meet..in person.
pray that we may find soulmates in eachother just as you did.and you rightly said there is a ruthlessness when people are moving towards a goal more so when its a material goal. thats life isnt it?

avant--HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY!
Yes, you are right about love. I'm so lucky that hubby and I have shared the best love I've ever known for over 10 years. Yep, life is good.

All pain associated with the object of love is due to the fear of not getting love in return. When you decide merely to love, there is a safety and invulnerability that is not of the mind. Have a wonderful Valentine's Day.

Avant and Marshall -
If I may add a note. Any pain associated with love is due to the conditional nature of that love. Unconditional love cannot create pain. And another wonderful post, my friend!

Isa
I think the pain exists solely because deeply, inwardly, we believe that love is something we get only through others; and, that what others do and say is directly linked to how much love we have.
An enormous shift in consciousness occurs when an individual looks honestly at herself and realizes that love is a decision to give, and is indifferent to who receives it. It could be an inanimate object. The source is the same.
The mind uses love to feel secure, and in the process creates enormous suffering and creates hate, love's opposite. Yet, this 'love' is merely pleasure of using someone for one's own gain at an enormous expense.
