Nanaroo--- Wonderful little story. Thanks for sharing. When I was doing my
student teaching (and possibly better looking than I am now), I could tell that some of the high school girls were a bit infatuated. Late one afternoon, the telephone rang. When I picked it up, a female (a young female) voice said, "This is the operator. I have a long-distance call for Mrs. Montgomery. Is she there?" Before I realized what was going on, I said. "No. There's Mrs. Montgomery." I'm sure that made some young girls very happy.

Minnesota people are nice- and were especially so in the 60's.

Hi Nanaroo
What a great little story. You were an industrious kid and pretty appealing, too. I'll bet old Mrs. Anderson had you figured out, all right. She probably looked forward to your calls, though, and got all brushed up on her central Minnesota agricultural facts to give you the best scoop!
