I used to be a confirmed atheist, but nowadays I reefer to myself as an
inquiring agnostic. This leaves my options open and allows for understanding things in the future that currently mystify me.
The cliquism required to believe in a certain concept reminds me too much of the mindlessly religious.
I truly am not the sure and wish to remain open to personal enlightenment. Each to their own.

SuccessWarrior - that's it ultimately
The only problem with using this type of manufactured and irrational fear in this day and age, is that it is becoming ever more redundant. As time goes on more and more people are not buyng into it because of the inconsistancies.

jollyjeff - same here - this idea never worked for me either
If you were to listen to those who claim that their path, or their beliefs, is the one and only true path to heaven and if we consider the number of religions on this planet claiming this; then those condemned to hell would be the vast majority of all humans ever born. How can this be? How can these people claim that their God is all loving and then adhere to a notion that clearly demonstrates his complete lack of mercy?

sannhet - thank you, if there is one failing point of most religious
messages, it has to be the focus on the afterlife while ignoring the present. You must be a better person than me however, I don't offer love to people I don't know, I don't even pretend to do so. Mostly because it is an ideal that I feel I can never attain. Instead, I shoot for giving everyone I meet the benefit of the doubt and a fair shake. Hey, you gotta start somewhere.

Gome -
Well said! It's all about how one lives one's life in the present. What I am doing right now to offer love into the world. Not what I did yesterday, nor what I will do tomorrow. But what I do right NOW.
