kooka_lives - I find your assessment of biblical prophecy interesting
This is another area where humans are overcome by their desire for it to be so. If a person looks at biblical prophecy with any degree of objectivity, it becomes apparent that there are two components to this that must be completely overlooked by the subscriber. The vagueness of detail that you mentioned is a key element and an equally vague timeline is the other important ingrediant. It doesn't take Jesus Christ to rattle of a list of upcoming events when you have forever for them to come true. Then there is another aspect to any prophecies. When the subscriber has an overwhelming desire for it to be true, they are not only capable of overlooking anything that doesn't fit, many are capable of pro-actively attempting to make these prophecies come true. Hitler's initial expulsion of the Jews to the Palestine region is a perfect example. The only thing I would add to your comparison of biblical prophecy and astrology, is that astrology hasn't as yet proven to have the potential to be nearly as dangerous.
