Yes, you're right
peace must be experienced and, once done so, understood that it can come again at even the most awful of times

Thanks very much for standing by to read and my apologies for not doing same for some time now. This is because I have a number of things doing. I no longer have the space I used to. However, by next week I will be more free and I shall come around to read your very interesting posts. God Bless.

Excellent! Evensong seduces one into a state of receiving from that which is giving so that the giving may also receive.

Hi there,
I think the word I'm looking for is aliteration. It helps the flow of the prose.

It is even closer than you imagine: you are that peace. The trick is removing the obstacles to its awareness.

The thing about feelings is that they will be experienced no matter what you try to do about them. The more you resist, the more out of control they are.

May be someone knew what i posted and while you were reading he was there to see what you have to say...we people should accept such phenomena being receptive we are able to see beyond and somewhere its a good thing to experience.

this reminds me of a few times I have been in the woods and taken over by an orchestra of music in my head, it lifted me up. I like to think that the peace you speak of is so very close. thanks.

The things that stay with us
That poor mother and you for having to witness that. I'll post some excerpts from this book, I already did post one of the poems, Dulce et decorum est", by a WWI poet, simple and clear language, which seems so powerful, another by a Vietnam vet who said he wrote poetry to deal with his feelings.

Very rarely do I see something that shakes me to the core. I remember once, a 16 year old kid hanged himself with his jeans. The mother's screaming in the yard is something I'll never forget.
Thanks for the tip on the book.

Avant,
I'm currently reading a book titled "Voices in Wartime", an anthology of poets, journalists, and war survivors, it's uncanny how the mind works in times of trauma, and the similarities between survivors of domestic violence and soldiers, an inability to turn off the hypervigilance. Interesting, I thought you must see it all the time in your line of work.
I only bring this up, because so much of your writing is about being calm and centered, finding the inner voice.

I guess to a certain extent, I am. I was attacked once by a raving lunatic with a knife, and I had some strange things happen mentally as a result.
