Preacher's do love to preach
and usually without regard to what might occur because of it. Dwarf tossing is a wonderful sport as along as all participants are willing ones.

Ariala - chick toss will never fly --- okay that was bad
But after a certain height, say 40", I think it would be more of a weight issue. Aerodynamics come into play.

kooka_lives - there are other trends in our society to be a lot more
concerned about. You mention boxing, which has somehow survived as an international sporting contest despite all of it's infamy and the real danger it poses to it's participants. Scarier to me are the ultimate fighting matches. Not so much in the level of risk for the participants but moreso for the negative effect it's glorification is having on our society's collective pshyche. We are subconsciously resurrecting the acceptence of a mercenary warrior mentality and alllowing it to be instilled upon our culture's young men. Adding cash, glory and prizes to further accellerate this degenerative mindset. Now boxing pales by comparison, it isn't gory nor brutal enough. No one will convince me that there is not a direct correllation between the mainstream acceptance of this type of violence and domestic violence.

My four brothers used to toss me around like that in the pool when I was
little...I sort of miss it and think being tossed about through the air would be lots of fun. Is 5' close enough to join?

To be fair
Let's go to the bars and tell them to hold a 'six foot tall, while male throwing night' so all will get treated equally.
I have no problem with that myself.
I personally find Boxing to be more offensive, since that is just watching two grown men beat the crap out of each other for money as a form of entertainment. Midget throwing seems to me to be much more civilized and respectful.
As for the idea that it degrading, how to we view professional athletes? They are generally of a specific type, strong and muscular and fit and are sent out on the field for our amusement (Okay, not mine since I find watching sports to be boring) and get paid for it. We do degrade in the same manner them and no one thinks twice about it. Why? Because they are of an ideal body and so for some it is not the same thing. What would happen to professional sports if it was just the average guy out there?
It is interesting as to where we see the degrading happening and where we just ignore it because it does not seem so bad.

Kooka_lives - I don't see anything really wrong with it and the stripper
analogy is a fairly close example. I think the reason the issue was so hastily settled in favour of the protestors is that it had an element of political incorrectness. The word "degrading" was used a lot by everyone except the little people that were actually happy to make a few bucks at it. We all know and understand that continuing with any activity that is degrading to any group in our society is wrong but at what point must we consider the needs and desires of the affected group?

I see nothing wrong with it
It is just like strip clubs and such. Is it exploitation? At some level, but it is self- exploitation. If the money is good enough and no one gets hurt, then who really cares. I have known strippers who love doing what they do and would be upset if they were suddenly told they could not make a living stripping, and it sounds like you had a midget who enjoyed being tossed. Hell, is it really any different than professional sports? What about boxing?
I'd let my self get tossed for $600 buck a gig. But I'm little big for that. So can the bar have 'normal sized person tossing' night? Or would that be offensive as well?

hahahahhaha, I've never heard of such a show...What is wrong with
Missouri? That is one show I would watch every night! ROFL If the midgets want to be tossed, let them be tossed to their heart's delights. There needs to be a law against tall people stopping this sport.
This would be the perfect show for those of us with short attention spans.
FREE THE MIDGETS!
