Xeno-x - it is scary but must be viewed through objective lenses
In a free enterprise society, those who are offended by a commercial endevour do have the right to both, make their feelings known and to boycott that which they find offensive. I see your point here however, the group involved feels that they themselves and what they hold as religious beliefs, are above satire or negative depiction. Any societal movement intent on censure and derived from the irrational processes of religious belief ultimately does have the potential to be very dangerous. I wonder if this same group would aquiese to complaints about how they depict those who do not believe in their God? I wonder if they would accept censure as readily as a commercial enterprise is forced to? We both know the answer to that. The reality is that groups such as this, whose intentions may be righteous in their own minds, soon find themselves doing exactly as you describe in attempting to force their version of community standards, as derived from their personal beliefs onto everyone else.  Any group that can't take a joke, and calling a fictitious religious cooking show "Cruxi-Fixins" is nothing more than a joke, should stay the hell out of public issues until they develop the maturity to consider others.

here's something worse
one main instruction in warfare and other public affairs is

"know thy enemy"

so here is the group that has prettywell loused it up for the rest of us.

American Famnily Crap

We ought to all check this site ouit frequenhtly to see what they're oging to do gasint us next --- theyjust got THE BOOK OF DANIEL off the air -- and they're targeting a WILL AND GRACE segment -- over "Cruci-fixin's"  of all things.

This is an example of a small group trying to tell the rest of us what we should be doing and watching and so on -- attacking Ford for supporting gays.

they have a pretty well organized thing going -- an "army of believers" who want to bring the country around to their way of th8inking

I am  more scared of this than just about anything else.

Yep, there have been movies where straight men play gay roles
Peter Pan is usually played by a woman instead of young boy and many animals in movies are fake and then there's cgi which is completely fake.  I've heard that Godzilla's agent is a bitch to work with so it's easier to dress some guy up in a rubber suit.  I'm not sure if the guy inside is gay or not, or christian or not.  Didn't think to ask.  I'm going to write the movie makers and request that sexual preference and religion be listed after the actor's name in the credits to clear this all up.

I would imagine...
...the "chimpstrains" have figured it out.  It fills their coffers as well.

Hmmmm. Didn't the main actor in
"Chariots of Fire" die of AIDS?  That movie was based on the life of Christian missionary to China Eric Liddell.

SuccessWarrior - that's an angle I never considered and a good point
When you consider that any other actor is judged solely by his/her performances, how does sexual preferences enter the picture?  . . . and who determines the standard of this new criteria? Are lesbians excluded from doing roles of straight women as well? Do we recall all movies by Ellen Degeneress and Rosie O'Donnell. The entire issue is a comedy.

So actors aren't allowed to act anymore, they have to be the real deal?

Sounds like another "Left Behind"...

God, did that movie blow, btw.

Also, I think I may have found it, channel 75 here seems to sorta fit your description ... it's really, really pious anyway.

M.P.O. - I never paid enough attention to give you more information on
who and where this broadcast comes from but it may only be local to Canada. This story however, is making news in the USA. Some evangelical guy (one of the less well know crazies) is trying to drum up publicity for his "Christian cause"  with a widespread petition to have the movie banned. He is inadvertantly the movie's greatest promoter and the attention he has attracted to it, has been responsible for turning a quiet little movie into a big movie. It has been hovering around 14th or 15th in weekly box office in limited release. We'll see how it turns out but it is now on the map for both wider release and awards.......

There's a religious channel, now?

Other than movies, what else do they air?  Do they have, like, talk shows and cooking shows and stuff?
