Jane, excellent thoughts!
I have a hunch that Buddy had more in mind than abortion; he's probably lumping creationism into the mix as well. And, yes, truth always polarizes, whether a Christian or non-Christian is proclaiming it.

Bud's back from celebrating the Conservative victory in Canada!

So, how was the party?

Interesting comments as always. Agreeing to disagree agreeably is always a virtue, but the increasing use of extremist rhetoric makes it nigh impossible. I would ask if things are always peaceful in every case of following destiny; for instance, was it Germany's destiny to be ruled by Hitler?

You know as well as I do that Christians are scarcely the only people who "want their point of view to rule because they are right, denying others the freedom of choice."The problem being addressed here is the desire to force conservative Christians out of the picture. That is just as wrong as of Christians were to do that to anyone else.

And another question: Do you have any obejction to Christians being allowed to present their poitn of view without censorship, allowing others to make up their minds about it?

But Bud-Oracle,

I'm not certain how you can re-write the rules of science to make the act of abortion to be any less than what it is -- murder.  How can you say that it isn't?  By making such a statement, you are merely trying to appease your conscience.  How is it that a month before a baby is due to slip out of the birth canal, its death is not considered a murder (by pro abortion folk) while, perhaps a month after birth an infant killed by its profoundly depressed mother suffering from severe post partum dysphoria is considered murder?  What's the difference?

Writer, here's my take on your very good Blog.  I think that in a way conservative Christians do have a polarizing effect on politics.  We tend to have a very strong system of ethics and values, tend to be more black and white on certain specific issues and are less willing to stick a wet finger up in the air to test the direction of the wind.  You know?  While on the other hand, you have liberals who pride themselves in being more flexible, tolerant and open minded.  Anything goes, truth is what you want it to be, all people should be allowed to do whatever makes them happy . . . and so they are tolerant of everything except, it would seem, Christianity.

WOL This is such a great post. It is so honest for you to say yes
we can disagree and have total right to do so. We can continue to traffic in our differences. One can not decide that there is something wrong with a thing simply because it doesn't fit their agenda, body, mind or..... Great, sensible and well done.

Again you stumble over yourself to create pseudo logic.....................

Two people can have opposite opinions on a subject and get along agreably as long as each is allowed their respective point of view. When one of them calls the other a murderer and tries to insert their position into law to force the other into compliance, than things can become divisive. When each is allowed to follow their own destiny, make their own decisions, things are peaceful. Christians want their point of view to rule because they are right, denying others the freedom of choice.

Now you may not understand this with your convoluted way of thinking. But if this logic doesn't cut it for you, other's might understand it, as long as you allow them to read it. That, of course. is generally not what christians like, uncensored points of view which allow others the freedom to make up their minds.

Rather they wish to rewrite science and the rules of logic to make their nonsense "sound" authentic.
