Yeah, Bud-Oracle, sort of. In a dictatorial, occupational, puppeteering
sort of way.

Well maybe down there was the best description he could use since
he didn't wish to use the actual name which doesn't sit well in his victory list. At least the Iraq elections and democracy can sort of fit on the list of accomplishments. Well sort of, anyways.

Hey, sassmeback, the worst aspect of it all is that Bush technically is
the DOD's boss. Bush as Commander-In-Chief is an internationally terrifying concept. Just ask anyone, say, outside the United States. And some within.

It wouldn't be such an issue
if he would have appointed someone to FEMA that actually had a CLUE as how to help these people! If help would have been given immediately and not 4 days later and later and later... it might have been a very different situation. But, then again it helps if the President of the United States can recognize that the FEMA Director is a clueless director. It took the Vice President to go and visit before anything changed. It took the Vice President to say, " hey this isn't going too well" But, when you are friends with "Bushy" you can get a job doing anything. Let's just hope that he doesn't know anyone that might want to work for our Defense Department. OOPS did I speak too soon?

Don't bother, Merinque. It's a real yawner. More of the 'l'm still
president, so listen to me whine about exporting freedom' rah-rah bullshit. 'Make me a uniter, not a divider' crap. No substance.

On this I agree, DrJPT. However, Dubya the Corporate Whore could do a
helluva lot more for the Gulf States if he wished, given his contacts. Look what he's 'accomplishing' in Iraq. Building new things as quick as the suicide bombers can blow them up. Just think what that money spent here could do.

Maybe a nod toward efforts at rebuilding our own devastated coast and what
more can be expected of the government may have been a more appropriate topic in his address about the state of our
Union, instead of the endless use of the word 'freedom' in his trying to sell the war on terror and defend his illegal 'surveillance program', not to mention his palsied manipulation of patriotism by reading the 'last letter' of a brave soldier to sell the unpopular Iraqi war.

See, I don't get what everyone's complaining about...
he mentioned them ... just not by name.
So, what's the big deal?
The pool is too small.
And, you might as well know it,
When people have junk
Here's the place that they throw it.
