Lovely, Avant. Very lovely. It reminds me of that other group of poets: "the love you take is equal to the love you make."

To compare your own garden to another's
is not honoring your own work and growth.

I think this is one of your finest posts...such simplicity but at the same time, complex and beautifully expressed...did that make sense??

You're right. Making it a means to an end defeats its purpose. I've seen a lot of great work unappreciated because of this.

yes it does defile its beauty and invalidate its worth...comparions are for naught. we are all where we are supposed to be helping each other along

Avant

there was a garden I worked at this past summer landscaping, and he entered all the competitions. I was in argument with the other workers in how you can judge gardens and compare, and why a person would want another person to judge the garden they grew according to what they wanted.

anyway, thanks again for a great post.

Avant -
Comparing gardens is like comparing the stars in the heavens. One is no more beautiful then another. They each have their own beauty.

Incredibly beautiful imagery!  Wonderfully written post.  Even though I'm swamped, working this temp job...your postings are the best things in my day. (especially since I rarely have time to write any more...at least until the job's over.)   They certainly help keep my attitude properly adjusted.  Thanks.
