We try to share but some people's eyes remain wide shut.

Jo,
This is a difficult one. I've learned that people will sometimes use your pain to their advantage or to inflict further pain. There are some very hateful people out there. Sometimes people are not always as they seem. But God bless the wonderful, caring ones...I am thankful for them!

Strangelove

That sounds sad?

I guess we are in an artificially constructed situation where everyone comes to share.

Not necessarily their pain - but - the good and the bad.

Has its good points,

Jo

People Usually Share Theirs With Me and Rarely Want to Listen to Me...
I read somewhere that about 20% of people are happy you are in pain and 80% do not care and essentially do not listen.  You know statistics...

Ariala - this is true

We try to talk about empathy at rehab which is more like relating than sympathising.

Thanks for the comment,

It can be tough because the last thing you want is something thinking
you want sympathy.
