Hey CunningLinguist,
I'm just JEALOUS that you have an Ipod, I'm still stuck with a cd player, so I'm sorry I can't help you. I read your comment on Laylabeth's blog, sorry to see you're under the weather, that damned flu is nasty. My boyfriend had it and I thought I was going to have to take him to the ER at one point. No fun. Hope you're mending.

when you are feeling better....
there is freeware that can reformat your music so you can transfer it to your ipod. The problem with downloading from REAL is their music is coded. I made the mistake of downloading from there. My brother wanted a copy of the album I had downloaded. So I figured I'd burn him a copy from my PC. The problem was, my daughter had burned her friends a bunch of copies. So when I went to burn my brother a copy, REAL told me I had reached my 5 limit copy. That wasn't working for me. And surely I wasn't going to go buy music I already had. So, I read up on decoding and formating, reformated all my music from real, and now I can burn as many songs as I want, and plus download onto any system.
Hope you're feeling better :-)

AZUR, RAFIKA, GUBBY, KRISLES AND FREELANCER
Cunninglinguist has been struggling with the flu and it got complicated with pneumonia. He's improved and feeling better but will be on a sabbatical from the cyber world. I'm expecting as soon as he's rid of this, he'll come back to blogit with a vengeance. Due to the circumstances, he hasn't been able to focus on the i-pod and its glitches. So if you have any suggestions on how he can get his music going, please feel free to write him care of me! I can read him the e-mails and send him your well wishes.
On behalf of the Cunning, I thank you for your loyalty and your clicks; and please feel free to keep clicking even if there is no new material. Prayers help too, they speed up the recovery.
Regards,
Melody

I'd call one of the guys at Best Buy or wherever you got it and ask them.....I always ask the geeks where I buy stuff. I've had my iPod forever and love it, but I'd never loaded anything to my computer before I got it so iTunes got everything fresh....I've still never read any instructions and ever bought anything online even though I have a card I bought....I don't want to have to figure out how....I'm just soooooo bad about that anymore.......pitiful......awful......

I think
there's an option somewhere that lets you stop having to make new versions of the files. Fiddle about, if it's there you should find it.
If you can't upload the realplayer format, well maybe tough luck. But you might be able to convert it into a different format. I'd try (just in case) to see if you can just change the extension to .mp3 manually. That probably won't work. Otherwise google it and you should find some program which can convert the files for you. There may be some loss in quality, but whether or not it'll still be worth listening to.. you'll just need to see for yourself.
Good luck..

I'll ask her if she has any advice. She downloads music, TV shows, movies, podcasts, all kinds of stuff. I'm jealous. I want one...

Holy Grail
that's horrible! These freakin' things are expensive, too. An attorney bought this for you?! I was under the impression that attorneys are evil. Maybe he was the one who stole the iPod lol. It's the only explanation for a lawyer buying generous gifts.
Thanks for reading, Ms. Grail. Sorry about the hard times.

Um, yeah, uh....I guess I'm not the person to ask! I got an iPod for Xmas from an attorney I work with, had it for about 10 days while I started at it like it was going to bite me, finally figured out how to load a couple of CDs, then left the damn thing on my desk the day before Montana was put to sleep. Of course it's long gone. Just when I got it figured out.....
