Now. ., that's one cool Grandmother! Actually, mine is getting ready to get rid of her car this month, and like yours, she's made the decision herself. (Mind you, she wasn't quite as candid as your grandmother was--which is priceless!)

Micro Sleep.
Dear Nanaroo.. Micro sleep is very dangerous. The British had always tried to make the road in a curvy from time to time, not in a very straight line like Super Hiways. The reason for the curves is to keep you awake. If you feel a bit of sleepy, try to tickle the upper roof of your mouth with your toungue and you will signal some adrenalin in the body to keep you awake. Try this and drop a comment in one of my blogs if it is working for you... regards...

Nanaroo,
Glad that you arrived home safe and sound. My recent post was about "creative nonfiction." Based on your post about what you wrote and what your mother said, you might find it interesting especially the quote by Tony Earley...

thanks passion
I tried that but stayed wide awake as long as the car was parked. (I think I was a little worried about who might be lurking)

I'm glad you made it home safely-
Next time you should pull into a rest area and close your eyes for 10 or 15 minutes....just to be on the safe side.
