call it Karm, willyou?
what goes around comes around
we destroy the environment and we pay.
etc.
hit yourself on the head enough with a hammer and you will feel the effects.
don't need the Book of Revelation to tell you that.

just a little rebuttal

You said: "The points of my other post are still valid though.  It still does not make sense for this to be the end times just because some make the false claim that we are in a time of 'great sin' and can only be a sign of some form of mental illness."

We can think of great sin, as the great destruction of society, destruction of the environment, and what appears to be the impending destruction of all humanity buckling under the staggaring wieght of collective sins, great and small - accumulating its momentum over millenia, expressing its wrath in the devestating enactments of corrupt commerce, war, natural disasters, and cultural apathy.

It appears as if the entire globe is afflicted by crippling, crazy making, mental illness.

gluttony, etc. -- smoking -- various of these things
are not sins
they are reactions to sin
the sin is the way people treat one another.
the reaction -- eating, smoking, retreating to religion, etc. is a defensive mechanism.
the indidivudl is not so responsible for these "sins" as they are victims of sin and taught these things.
mothers overfeed their children -- shovel treats down them -- pander to their every whine
peers and that "rebellious" nature of adolescents trying to find their way causes some to experiment with smoking , drinking, other things.  lack of self discipline pulls them farther into addiction.
there is really only one commandment -- do unto others
and one sin -- not doing  unto others.
everything else is a response.

How do you know that Star Wars isn't real?

Studying for my physics class and my history class and the current debate in the school system about teaching intelligent design really has me thinking.  For myself, I believe I have discovered who god is.  I will probably discuss it in my religion blog when I get done begging for help.

As always, enjoyed the post.
