food4thought I agree children should be taught in an appropriate
manner the basics of sexuality, health and respect. But just that not in an abusive manner.

Kingmi, I am not sure I understand you. I do not think as I believe
this was the parent's claim, that a first grader and a fifth grader should have the same knowlege of graphic sexual behavior. I believe that was the objection. The course was not appropriate, the questioning was far too graphic for the six and seven year old children. I would not want my grandson to be asked the same information a fifth grader would be asked. He is in first grade and is still getting acquainted with his biology much less how it works in unison with one of the opposite sex or same. Oh too much.

Songbirdshafer, no I am not kidding. It happened yesterday I guess.
I knew when it went to court. I did not know it had gone to the appeals court. This is a crime against children. Thank you for reading.

justsouno, There is no need to juke the title of a course about sex. We are
talking about sex here.  I see no reason to deny children an objective overview of health, as we have had it for decades.  but I see no reason to advertise it, or to start out disrespectfully.

I hope you're kidding,
but I think you're serious.  Seems like home schooling might be the only real option for keeping children moral and safe.

Actually, I think many home schooled children would fare better academically than the publically schooled children.  You can't give one on one attention to a full classroom of kids.

God bless!

food4thought the parents were not even notified the survey was to be
given these children. I find this an asualt on parenthood.

Justsouno...
Has it changed that much?  When our kids were in school, (10 years or so ago) we had the choice to opt out of the sex-ed part of the curriculum and we were shown the materials so we could make up our minds.  Perhaps that is the advantage of being in a small community.
