Thanks, Tapsel
I'm mentally preparing its sequel.  Seems like most bloggers liked it.

What a beautiful analogy, songbirdshafer.

doxbaby,
Yeah, I wish everybody had a real loving marriage, if they're inclined to marry.  It would make this sad old world a more beautiful, loving place.

Unfortunately, I only know about four couples (not including me) that I'd compare with the ideal wood fire.  I just know that's how marriage should be.

No, Billy,
I have never used sawdust pellets.  Folks burn wood here in my region.

Straightforward,
I just e-mailed you through Blog It, but the screen blipped back to the home page when I sent it, so I don't know whether you got it or not.

Straightforward,
That's an interesting idea.  I'll have to think about it first.

Trevor,
I've never heard of the comparison to the compass points, but it sounds really neat.  I'll have to check that out.  Thanks.

you are so right! Also a good marriage, like a good fire warms you from the inside out Here's hoping that everyone have an opportunity to experience both in their lifetime

used sawdust pellets ;-)

Nice weaving of things here luv. My first marriage had a lot of knots in it but the second one was solid oak. lol

A good analogy and a neat thing to be doing, if you ask me!

Can I quote you in any piece that I write? With your pseudonym at blogit?
Or with your real name? If the latter, can you e-mail that to me?

In ur next post, how about taking the analogy further and explaining the
burning out of the sticks?

I agree with TC there, great post!

good analogy
it would make a good poem, like Donne's "Valediction Forbidding Mourning" where he compares himself and his lover to the two sticks of a compass...
