The article is a long read....but an exceptional summary of our "war" history.... For me the most relevant parts was when we shifted our approach to war........brought about by the terrible mistakes made in Vietnam......the failure to do what it takes to win a conflict only erodes the chance of a victory. It, in a sense, nutered future Presidential decisions ........
As to the critics and snipers here at home......the thing that aggravates me the most about the opponents charges is the motive behind them.....they are not based on a genuine opposition to war in general but are linked to 11-7-00. They have never gotten over the loss and continued to believe that they actually won. No number of recounts in Florida would satiate their anger...........so the charges and sniping are based on political events....not military ones.........
