You make some very good points on the problems, then everyone comes along and veers off on expressing their opinions.
THAT is the problem. Most people confuse emoting with thinking.

Like Offbeat said or wrote, I don't think America will ever loose. America is winning. The problem is what you have touched, the Media. They are making a lot of hypes especially Al jazzira whose stock in trade is to transform terrorists into heroes. I bet you , if Western media refuses to air the image and declarations not only of Ossama and all other terrorists, they will become irrelevant. I had said this in 2000 when intifada began and some colleagues did call me names, but today, I have been vindicated.

Wislon what many don't understand is that the war on terror is not
like any war we have ever fought before. Even the war in Iraq went from an army dispersing, then it moved to fighting Saddam loyalist and then insurgents. Terrorsit groups are set up in at least 40 countries, but you don't fight a country you fight the different factions in a completely different kind of war. We may be able to contain it but winning to me is impossible. You cut the head off one snake and another pops up.

Well, IMHO... I don't believe for a moment that we will lose this war. While the media runs rampant over our screens, there are men and women fighting this war on all levels. There are many who really wouldn't give a whip if we just made a bigger parking lot over there.. this country did not become great because it had no guts for war...OBL is a punk who hides behind a religion, he is a dead man walking.

You are right!
We need to promote what is right with our country and admit to what is wrong. Bart of our problem is that we have a large portion of our population that thinks the Bin Laden’s of the world are victims and can’t be held responsible for what they do. They think that we are just big bullies. So like spoiled children the Bin Laden’s try and get their way and mommy and daddy don’t do any thing to stop them because they are just expressing them selves. Then mommy and daddy wonder why junior ends up on drugs. The Bin Laden’s of the world will have you killed as a way of expressing them selves.
