Azur
I sometimes go on a reading binge where I finish one and pick up another.  I do realise that I'm doing it to either forget a project or allow my brain time to subconsciously work it out, but I just keep reading. Perhaps that is what was happening to you, Azur.

If a book doesn't capture my attention within the first 20 pages, I will most likely sit it aside and not return to it.  When I am writing, if the subject matter I'm dealing with can't manage to meld with the style I usually deliver a tale within the first 100 words, I'll usually set it aside untold.  I guess I don't have the "stuck with it" mentality.  *sigh*

Hi Azur!
I just left a comment on Tapsel's blog saying that I'm supposed to be writing an article for our school magazine, but what am I doing instead?  Um, what I want to!

I'm with MerryAnne
but also agree with you about books; sometimes you have to just give yourself permission to let them go.

Well
I feel that way about the dentist... lol!  But as far as work goes, you do what you want to do, or face the consequences.  so the motivation is to not face that negative result.
