In fact, if you have photoshop, or something similar, you can play around with the brightness/contrast quite a lot, to reveal what's hidden in darkness.
Not to be a downer here, but that owl is big enough to carry off a cat...

Try taking your photo anyway with a digital camera.
Just using Microsoft's PhotoEditor I've often lifted out images from black frames, just ask Ciel...
