rafika,
I'm sorry about Shamsuna.

What a beautiful name!  What does it mean?

Oh, this just brought me to tears
I held my cat Shamsuna in my arms when she expired from a kidney infection.  I heard the death gasp and then saw her eyes go dull.  It was so upsetting that I cried for three days, continuously.  It was indescribable (I say with shame as a poet).  Thanks for sharing.  Your blog brought back all those emotions.

Thanks, RogueSelena
The greatest comfort--the only comfort--in seeing them go is knowing they're at peace.  We had tried to reach a vet for Bootle all that day and couldn't.  Our regular vet was out and another vet was closed.  Sometimes, there's just nothing we can do for our pets but to be there at the last.

I too have nursed quite a few sick and dying animals in my lifetime, and I know what you mean about that heart-wrenching moment when they let go...
I am so sorry for your loss, and know that Bootle is at peace now, and happy for the wonderful life and care you gave him...

Take care,
RogueSelina

Thank you, Ariala
May that day of no more death and suffering come swiftly.

I'm so sorry to hear this...you were brave to try to nurse her through it
all...It's a heartbreaker watching an animal suffer or feel ill.  I long forward to that day when there will be no more death or dying.
