1957
was a very good year and sheets drying in the air....nothing like the sounds and smells of such simplicity. Something our grand children will only know thru stories. Thanks so much for sharing your posts and this wonderful photo  I swaer I can almost smell the sheets on the line.

Qween-LOVED it!!!!!!
I loved your description! It brought definite sounds, of sheets snapping in the wind, and the feel of them, crisp and full of sunshine.  The faint smell of bleach and the memory of a time when adult problems were far ahead is what comes to my mind.  Here is a picture of our farm in 1957, and there are the sheets, blowing in the wind...

When the 'good drugs'
were dripping into my veins just before I was wheeled into the operating room my father leaned over the gurny and said, 'sweetheart....picture a place of peacefulness and healing in your mind and hold it there.' Dear dad......great advice. And so I pictured of all places....my backyard with fresh white linens blowing on the clothesline in the warm afternoon air. Might seem silly to some....but to me it meant.....and still does a  birth.....fresh and clean with new life.

Dear maggiemae,
How Coooool - It is the dawning of the Age of Aquarius. . .  In ceemarie53, I was born in 53 and will be 53 on Feb. 12.  I have 2 sisters and a brother closer to your generation.  My sisters are 67 and 61 and my brother is 62.  So you fit right into my pool of close advisors!

Hi Maggie,
I'm still a 'yungin' (I'll be 53 in Feb. - the 12th).  My daughter, her friend and my husband all shared your analysis - waaaaaay out there.  I have many sides......... weird at times, yes! I think it's this cold I caught. . .

Tiparillos, Cigar & Cigarettes.
Dear Cee....One must also remember that tobacco came from Virginia State (?) of USA. It was the American Indians who introduced them through the conquistadors and spread all over the world. One remark of a great Indian Chief : "The invaders tried to annihilate us, tried to wipe us out, but the tobacco is our vengeance, forever." - Not the exact words. I do not wish a debate on this and I prefer a "CALUMET".. regards... Prof.

cee, I remember that, too. We must be around the same age, although I

suspect you're a bit younger.  (I'll be 64 next month).

I think that's a mighty strange thing for you to be thinking about while you're waiting to go to surgery though, mighty strange.  I used to know a joke about cigar smoker's wives always having breast cancer, but I've forgotten it (good thing, huh?).

Tit'terillos, hey?  That's a thought.  hahaha

This post is way out, cee, what can I say?
