Yeah, I would agree that Pat went over the top there.
But I see he has apologized to Israel, to Sharon and his family for his gross accusations. Likely because (after sticking huge foot into even larger mouth) they now won't let him build his $50 million theme park in Israel. Ah shucks.

Xeno-x -- I have to agree that even scarier than Pat Robertson himself
is the support he has. We've seen people right here on Blogit defend him and even emulate him. When you consider that his single minded agenda has him completely ignoring facts and most other reasonable considerations, does he not sound like a few people we have seen around here? Sadly, the list you've presented barely scratches the surface of his lunacy.
If there ever was a good reason to censure someone he is it. The funny thing about crazy people gaining widespread airtime is that not all people are merely entertained by it. It has a subtle effect on society on two fronts. Undo credence or legitimacy is given to someone who is on TV by a lot of people, and his words create a desensitizing effect. As we hear people say such things as he does, we become dulled to the dangers found in voicing opinions of such exclusivity and the spread of such hatred for any other groups that believe differently than him. The next guy up to the nutcase podium, must lower the bar even further, just to get our attention. Meanwhile the outrage dims and his words are accepted as a societal norm. I think someone should whack the guy . . . . cause we all know that the recent hurricanes in the southern USA were caused by God's disfavour as to how he ran his presidential campaign a few years back. Allah is fairly pissed with him as well.
