Yes writer you are correct about the higher paying jobs!
Even though I have moved to the country I still work for an engineering\surveying firm. In the past year we have hired 125 new employees at an average salary of about $50,000 and an annual compensation package of around $70,000. Many firms in the same field in the city are hiring also. So there are some low-paying jobs being created, but there are many great good-paying jobs also.

Thanks, sarooster and fw!
Sarooster, I think it's the first alternative you suggested. Bush must not be credited with anything positive whatsoever!
FW, personally my worry is my carelessness with credit. I can hardly be alone on that. As for the changing nature of our jobs, I can see your point but I don't entirely agree with it. Yes, a lot of high-paying manufacturing jobs have been lost, but that's simply because the products being made are being priced off the market by high costs of doing business, such as high-paying salaries. But I don't think all the new jobs are as low-paying as you claim. There are a lot of opportunities to do better than that.

I think it's the type of jobs being created that worries most Americans ..
adding low-wage service sector jobs and losing higher paying manufacturing and engineering jobs is hardly something to crow about.

Do you also notice how wrong the "economists" are!
Each month, when the new data comes out, the predictions the economists made were not correct. They either have an agenda to make the President look bad or they are incompetent in what they do. Either way they should be fired.
