it hasn't been so long ago

that all newspapers used actual cameras and photographers, printed only in black & white, and reporters phoned in their stories from the scene. The copy desk editor transcribed the info if the deadline was really close. Layouts were done by cutting and pasting strips of typed copy into the "news hole" between ads, and the lines between the columns were pasted down. We used razor knives to trim away that last paragraph that wouldn't quite fit... Which is why newswriters use the "reverse pyramid" style, most important facts first, followed by lesser and lesser details.

Now reporters have laptops networked to the mainframe, photos are digital and in color, and many of us don't even look at the paper -- we go online to look at the obits, and if our name isn't there, we get on with the day. The changes you mention are sure to be only the next step in the evolution of "publishing."  :)pat

MayB
If you are going to be serious about this, it appears to me that it would be time to find a voice LITERALLY for your words.  You need a teammate.

BlancheDubois. I think that it is a bit of a cute term
with the potential for broadcasters to overstate their significance. However, I agree with you that there are many possibilities
