I agree with much of what you have to say. I have watched many of my friends refinance (some several times) over the past five years. I have also watched as some of them have purchased homes priced close to 1 million dollars. (That is in a suburb where I purchased my first home in 1988 for $105,000) I suspect these people are living paycheck to paycheck. Again, it's about balance, moderation and using common sense, which mand Americans seem to be in short supply. Great post.
