Go to Malcolm's midwife: Words from the heartAdd a commentGo to Contact lenses

Malcolm,
I can empathize.  I've been wearing contacts for over 20 years, back in the day they were gas permeable, hard little pellet-like things. Now,there's disposable, it took me some time to get used to them.  It does feel counter-intuitive to stick your finger in your eye, doesn't it? However, it's well worth (to me) having peripheral vision and much clearer distance vision.

I've tried contact lenses before, too.  Wore them for a while, in fact, but I had problems getting them out, too, and it make me squeamish all the time when messing with my eyes.  Nowadays, I just walk around half blind.  *grin*

As usual, practice makes perfect, sigh..it can be tough:)
But I am sure he gets the positive attitude from his parents:)

I am like you...the thought of touching my eyes has kept me from contacts.
My oldest son, who has been wearing conteacts for three years now, spent about 8 minutes trying to get them out the first time!

Me too. Do you know anyone that had a worse situation as a result of the surgery?

I am a devoted contact lense wearer...
Everyone I know that wear them struggle at first, but you get used to it really quickly. Tell your son to perservere. I can now whip my lenses in and out without even using a mirror.

I know several people who've had the surgery to correct myopia. Not sure I would want to risk it.
