Pat Robertson is dead wrong and so are you justouno
nowhere in the Bible does it say that Palestine is God's land.
quite the opposite, God gave the land to Abraham and his descendants.
both the Jews and Palestinians are descendants of Abraham.
They both share in the inheritance.

Thus, Israel has the right to allow Palestinians a share of Palestine.

In fact, if we look at the Old Testament, we discover that the Israelites have never controlled the entirety of Palestine.  So where's the logic behind thinking they should now?  There is no foundation for such.

The only reasoning is Christians basically "stabbing Jews in the back".

They want the Jews to control the Holy Land and establish a temple there because they feel that the AntiChrist will be "the abomination of desolaton stand in the Holy Place" - that is, the Beast sitting in the temple as god.  And the Jews have to build a temple before this happens.  So they are enthusiastic about the Jews doing this.

They support the Jews because they expect Christ to return.

Corbin Dallas,
What?? The Zionist State of Israel today is not related to the People of Israel in the Christian Bible! Just because the Jew of today lay claim to that Ancestry does not make it so! Stop the maddness!!

Justsouno,

You are again showing your utter folly! Confusing the words of man with the Word of God! Be careful weak one! God is the Good that emerges from the ravages of Satan! Satan has a lot more men in his employ on this Planet than God!

Again you have undressed your ignorance!

Do you believe that God struck down Arial Sharon with a stroke because he is giving back land to Palestine? Boy thats a mean punishing God you guys are pushing, I'm afraid. We better all duck, he could swoop down and turn off any one of our lights for our transgressions. What happened to the loving God, who sent His son to save the world? Somebody better find his light!

Pat Robertson is a dottering old fool who doesn't serve his cause well at all anymore. How could Christianity be such a hurtful thing ? God is up there sending us Hurricanes and strokes to met out his punishment and his justsice.? Sharon is a 77 year old man who had a stroke no doubt contributed to by years of morbid obesity, not God's finger on his brain trying to kill him for giving back land to the Palestinians. Such utter nonsence!

I wonder what will be said about Robertson . . .
. . . if and when he suffers some punishment from the Almighty for being such a judgemental jackass?

CorbinDallas,
It is unlikely, according to the NY Times article of Jan. 4, that Prime Minister Sharon will return to campaigning for office.  His condition is debilitating with severe cerebral hemorrhaging. He is, after all, a 77 year old man who is in not in the best of shape.  After all, the life of a man is 3 score 10 years, I believe, if I have that right.  So, inevitably death takes us all, and God will be the judge of each and every one of us, Pat Robertson notwithstanding.

I agree that Pat Robertson's statements regarding assassinating a government official in Venezuela, the town who challenged the Intelligent Design being a likely target for God's wrath, and now this: gloating over the inevitability of Sharon's death.   Venezuela, by the way, was one of the first foreign countries to offer aid in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina.

I truly wonder who Pat Robertson speaks for. I know he doesn't speak for me: I believe that God will inevitably judge each and every one of us for every word, thought, and action, and that the word of God has been written on each heart, not the unforgiving law of the Old Testament and the prophets, but the lovingkindness and compassion of Christ.

I am not disagreeing with the words written regarding the protection of Israel....  I just feel that Pat Roberts doesn't help with such public statements.   I just gives fuel to the secular fires......it allows them to use these statements as an across the board indictment of all Christians.  I too believe that as long as we support Israel, we  are doing  the right thing and fulfilling the prophecies.

It is not only the radical, or the fundies as some like to say

but there are hundreds of renowned students, teachers and writers on prophecy who are in total agreement with Pat Robertson. None are interested in letting the rest of the world trample their knowledge.

Pat Robertson is not at all insecure. He is a graduate of Yale, a lawyer and is not a fool as the frightened like to claim. He is stating a fact according to the Scriptures.

I not only agree with him but I know that if we drop our support for Israel God will drop his hand of protection from us. That hand protects the Christian and the non-Christian.

Poor old Pat!
His mind is just gone. There are many Arabs who are hoping the best for Sharon, but many just want to see him dead. I know there is a faction of Israeli's who hope he can't come back and govern. It is sad when someone gets sick that others wish more ill on them. I am hoping for the best possible outcome for Mr. Sharon even though I am a big Netanyahu fan.

OK, weighing in here --

Another fairly conservative Christian against the idiocy of Pat Robertson.  I told my sister yesterday that I think he's going senile (likely has been for awhile) and could recommend some good dementia drugs for his use. . . .

Yes, I realize that's not a Christian-like comment to make, but to pronounce such a harsh judgment against PM Sharon is awful.  Who is he to speak the mind of God?

If there is anything Roberstson isn't.....it normal!! He is a piece of work that one! Wow, you have a large congregation, must be from Texas eh? Some of the churches in and around Dallas have congregations in the thousands!!

My concern now is with who will replace Sharon!

Offbeats

The thing that makes me most angry is how his statements are used to bash Conservative Christians   The church I attend (not nearly as regularily as I should) has over 11,000 members...and I doubt if any are glad this has happened.

He is credited as being the norm.....and he's far from it.......
