Telly,
We here could learn a thing or two from the Jewish community. When a Jew dies, he/she is buried within 2 days and there is no fanfare or excitement. We do thing so differently and so expensively.

I am sorry for your loss. I could never understand the need for expensive funerals; me, just wrap me in a shroud, put my tallit in with me, and a pine box will be fine enough.

from your description it sounds like I have something for which I should be grateful.

Sorry to hear this news
about the living and the recently dead. My thoughts are with you and your immediate family and hoping you'll be able to grieve properly so that you can all move on together. Memories of aunts and uncles from my youth were less colourful than a circus, more like dark and sinster and wearing vulture gear at funeral wakes.

Agreed, MerryAnne
Especially since it's supposed to be about the deceased.
