Avant,
K, I'm not too sure what a "catbird" is (except I do know it's actually the name of a real bird) but as far as a definition, it seems to be something of a powerful position....Am I on the right track? I dunno!  But, thanks, I think!!

Hey Lens!
Yep. You're totally correct. That's what happens with copper after time. Hmmm, you'd think that the U.S. would have enough $$ to restore it back to its original color!! ????

Trevor_Cunnington,
I'm writing many posts pretty quickly these days due to, well, long story. Lots going on in my life right now. I'm even suprised I'm able to even make an occasional appearence here lately! So, anyway, I saw what you were talking about and I fixed it. It took about 2 characters of deletion and one punctuation mark to correct it, however, I appreciate you pointing that out. Thanks! Oh, but BTW, please don't ever compare me to Paris Hilton. Now THAT I take as insulting!

Pttew!!! No way!! That is TOO FUNNY!!!! Loved it!! Yeah, I agree. I like to do the same thing with sunflower seeds! hehe!!

Flame-T, thank you so much for your comments.
As you know, I totally respect you and your opinions. You have a truly respectable manner when disagreeing and I appreciate that. IMO, Hussein was not the initial problem nor the proper target in launching such a war, though. What ever happened to Bin Laden? We seemed to have completely forgot about him when HE was the instigator behind the attacks upon the U.S. I don't disagree that Hussein is/was an evildoer to so many, but Bin Laden is the one we originally retaliated on and should have continued to pursue. America may be a world leader but our priorities are NOT in the right place. IMO, oil and power was became much more of an issue of pursuit than the protection of the people. Way too many military and civilians have been killed for an unjust reason and continue to die every single day. I just feel as if we have created more of a disastrous situation by fueling the fire of what was just a small torch in comparison to the already evil infliction and intention that Bin Laden cast upon us. Our efforts and attention shifted into the wrong direction prematurely. We needed to complete the task at hand before taking on the next. We need to take care of our own before we should be barging in on other countries' affairs. It's all about the oil...and the money. The reason I called Bush "a puppet" is because he is a puppet. Almost every word is written out for him (and he can't even get those right) and the impromtu responses that aren't pre-scripted out for him, well, listen to the man speak! He couldn't even give his own dog a command. He's a moron and I really want to smack that stupid smirky smile off his face every time he speaks. He smiles at the most inappropriate times. Sorry, but I just can't stand the guy and I can never compare him to Churchhill. Now that was a man who was deserving of respect. I can't wait til he's out of office. Thanks SO much for your comments and please know, I really do appreciate hearing from you!

Hi Spitfire

I'm not certain, but I'm willing to bet the Statue of Liberty was made of copper and copper tarnishes to that verdigris colour after a few years.  I'm thinking that because that's the story behind the copper roof of Canada's Parliament building.  Possibly the same thing happening with the Lady.

Hate to be a stickler, but...
Isn't it kind of ironic that you ream out Paris Hilton for her bad grammar/spelling, and in the sentence before you do this, you neglected to complete your clause?  You probably wrote this really quickly, didn't you .

Seedless watermelon? No thanks.
Scientifically impressive, yes, but not for me. As far as I'm concerned, spitting the seeds is more than half the fun of eating watermelon! Maybe I'm just old fashioned?  (Pttew!)

He, he!!  You certainly have some interesting thoughts, Spitfire!!

As for the seedless watermelons...I have NO idea!!!!!  Definitely something to ponder, though.  BTW...Good to read you again!!  Best wishes with whatever is keeping you busy!!

I see Ms. Godiva has mentioned that the original
color would not have been green most likely. Certainly when I was elected Statue of Liberty for our school play in 1976 I did not wear green, but silver.

I  saw and read with deep love and  with a great esteem your comments. I never knew that Rush Limbaugh was doing what you mentioned or contributing to the spread of hate. I have heard about him in France from French commentators but I need not tell you that, I don't always believe anything seen, read or heard in any French media. Nevertheless, you have to understand that humanity being what it is, there are certainly people who will capture just courses for their own personal gains and ambitions. That said, I will politely want to disagree with you on the following points: George W. Bush is not a pauppet. This is the mistake that many made before and now. I think Bush is in the mould of Great leaders such a Winston Churhill. If can lay your hands on recent British declassified doccuments, you will discover that what Bush is currently being decried for, is exactly what made Britain stand and send Mr Winston Churhill to posterity as one of our greatest. Secondly, the war which you pointed out was just. Mr Hussein had slaughtered about 300 thousand of his own citizens and was becoming dangerous. Hence there was need to act for we would have witness another twin tower attack had Bush not acted the way he has done. There is certainly a plan to pull out but I agree with you that it won't be easy but we should not also cut and run. Thank you for reading and God Bless.

Taps, geez, I sure hope there isn't a connection!!
And, no, I've been asked that question numerous times...I don't know where these thoughts come from. Just somewhere in my head; randomly and ususally at the strangest times, too!

LMAO, Spitfire.  What you don't come up with!   HAHAHA     Mating watermellons and green statues.  Might there be a connection?   LOL

Godiva,
I know, but it's still pretty weird, isn't it? I mean, even back then, they knew what happens to copper after a while! How have you been? Haven't heard from you in a while. Sorry I haven't been around so much lately. Trying to catch up among other things!! Thanks for stopping by!

it's not easy being green ---Kermit the Frog
The statue of liberty is made of copper and over time weathered copper looks green but I still don't know if that was eventually the intention or not.

Fires...

The Paris Hilton thing was CLASSIC!  I'm crying about the appalling idiocy and laughnig at the same time - I couldn't think of a better 'spokesmodel' to represent the decline of literacy in our country.  Fun post.

Mated watermelons...hmmm..
I'm sure you've heard the urban legend about the drunk bohunk up in eastern North Carolina who was caught out in the middle of a pumpkin patch having intimate relations with a pumpkin by a female deputy sheriff. When she asked him what the hell he thought he was doing, he looked at her and said, without missing a stroke, "Oh my God! Is it after midnight already?"

I don't know if future pumpkin generations from that patch have seeds, not do I intend to find out...

I was hoping someone (shocking it was YOU, hehe) would catch that. I don't think many would, so I changed it instead! Yep, moving is a pain in the ass, but hey, I just gotta go with it, ya know? Not much I can do or say about it now. It's gonna have to happen regardless!

Paris Hilton needs to eat some of those Carl's Jr. burgers she's selling.
She has enough money to eat once in a while, doesn't she?  I understand women with naturally fast metabolisms, but this anorexic craze scares me.  I can't fucking believe that t-shirt!    No, I can.  She carries her dog in a bag and dresses it up.  I have problems with that, too.  Green...maybe it was the color of money....she has no eyes....justice is blind?  And so is our government?  I'm just making shit up here.  I want watermelon now.  Yummie.
