Funny you brought that up. I made a suicide last night, where a guy hanged himself in a room. He was only 20. I felt him there as we were checking things out. It was very strange.

...i lived in a house in Colorado for 9 months one time where a woman had shot herself in the head with a shotgun. She was definately still hanging around, and I was scared the entire 9 months! It was very spooky.

It took me several seconds in the dream to speak. It was as if something was forcing my mouth shut.

Yes, me too. I feel sad for them, being unable to wrest themselves free from their self-created troubles. I've heard it said by more than one person that a ghost is a pathetic creature.

The land was a plantation in the 1800's, with slave quarters and all the rest of it. The place where the haunting occurs is an old crossroads, where doubtless a gathering place or store stood. Who knows what took place there.

Thanks for reading. I'm glad you enjoyed it. It is a challenge here to write something that's readable, yet not too lengthy.

Dignity Chronicles
I'm always up for a ghost story. Please share your experiences. I'd love to read of them.

Yes, you are right. But, I think as well that we can attract these energies through our own darkness. I am fascinated with this subject.

I do not believe in evil as an outside force, but merely as abject fear. I think spirits pretty much hold on to the personalities they had in life, and continue with their rants and desires to hurt, despite the fact that they only hurt themselves. Thanks for the comment.

I've lived an interacted with ghosts since childhood. It wasn't until later that I learned that you could take them where they need to go. As a child it was difficult to deal with these things. I plan on perusing your blog. Thank you for this post.

Avant,
Well, as far as my experience, if you feel a negative energy (vs. just a "spiritual energy") go with your gut. It may as well be a negative (or dark) energy.

Did you know that the title "Thirteen Ghosts" is a movie?
Thirteen is not actually an evil number.  People made it evil because it is commonly the number of 12 witches in a coven, plus one, for the devil (which in itself is untrue, because witchcraft and the devil have nothing to do with each other, and there's more to that...but that is a post, not a comment).  That is one reason, there are more.  Just because there are spirits, or ghosts that may not have crossed over yet, does not mean they are evil.  There are many reasons they linger, and there could be bad mixed with good.  She should look up the history of her house.  That would help with a cleansing.  It could be that some are trapped by something evil, and are trying to get attention.  Go over at midnight and free them.

The lady who lives there keeps a bible with her, and uses it as a shield. She told me numerous things happen there. If you don't experience anything, you don't have to worry about it starting. That is quite a coincidence about the trees, though.

I was thinking about the number 13 in relation to evil, and how symbolic it made the dream.

You would have to post something like this, wouldn't you?
I live in a 110 yr-old Victorian surrounded by pecan trees.  Excuse me while I go cower in a corner...

I am thinking of the number thirteen as a force that has power.

Did you Know God is a great baker? he invented a bakers dozen. to feed  twelve, and Jesus and the disciples were in divine order of the baker because God ate,em.And he even said to eat him.

But this is no ghost story!

no thing thrills like the sense of something old and invisible
and sentient and evil making itself felt in the presence of new and visible and sensitive and spiritually pure.  This Blog does a good job of conveying such a thrill.  Well done.
