blackcat30,
The only way I know to cope with the waiting is to stay busy, keep writing or doing something related to the writing...and try not to think about it too much.

Prof,
Thanks for the good wishes.
Keep in mind, though, that no legitimate publisher requires an author to pay to have a book published. If they do, then it's a vanity press and the author is a merely a customer.
Often authors are so desperate to see their work in print they resort to vanity presses. It's worse than self-publishing.

Nice opening, idea and closing about WAIT. I can say that your work is eligible to be accepted by printed publication. You gave me an idea about marketing the writing products soon after write them. Thank you. Well, at least I have 'Blogit' if my work is still WAITING for eligibility to be a printed matter. I've just sent my writing to my blog; also about writing, but for the beginning, a little bit related to yours. Bye. Wish you all the best of luck, songbird.

GOOD LUCK.
Dear S...I have just attended a seminar for authors. The reality is hell. After going through the process of waiting, editing etc. you have to learn marketing, selling etc. It seems that it is the publishing house that makes more money than the authors. The worst thing is you have to put up your own money to have your book published and the book store would take it as consignment, meaning the bookstore will only pay what they sold. Here comes hell.. After a year or so, your book will be reviewed, if it is bad they can return the books they haven't sold to you and you will end up with boxes and boxes of your books with little value...BUT I hope and pray that you will have a bestseller. GOOD LUCK....regards...Prof.

ms bradrock,
I'll tip my hat to anyone who can be patient while waiting on a publisher.
I think watching grass grow is easier than waiting to hear about a submission.
Good luck with your work.
