That's a great way of putting it. Thanks. We have had a great year, and I wish the same for you in 2006.

It is dizzying, isn't it? But, oh the ride. We do rejoice and laugh when it's done.

You will, my friend. I'm sure you're setting a splendid example for them.

I think it's fascinating that every one who visits this takes away something from it. No one person is right, for they have looked and seen and reaped the harvest. Thanks for your heartfelt comment.

Hey my mystical, magical friend...Happy New Year to you and Cameron and the boys. All the best to you in 2006. Your sharing has meant so much to me. You are one of those people I can "feel".

Dirty hands:
A sign of an honest days work.  Work for love.  Work for life.  I try to keep my eyes focussed on one spot to not get dizzy as I'm both spun and spinner.

I've never been afraid to get my hands dirty
and hope this is carried forward by our children. Happy New Year and hope to meet again in the next one.

The potter-God, The clay -us within the Universe
My synapse leads me to the Creator of the Universe as the potter, the Universe being the clay. Isn't it wonderful? What an amazing artist that potter! What he turned his clay into! An Universe with candles of stars, with dancing planets pirouetting tirelessly around a smile from the grumpy Sun, With at least one fertile earth cultivated with crops for body and crops for soul, administered by the only ones known capable to shed blood and be disrespectful for what surrounds them, one drop of clay called Adam and his appendix, Eve.

Avant -- This is a very invocative post. I have always loved the idea
that our being is like clay or marble that is "refined" over a lifetime. It is very rewarding when we notice that we have "lost" something we didn't need and feel more intricate and defined in the process. Have a warm and joyful new year!!

That is very true. I have taken in three strays, and I can feel their gratitude all the time.

Yes. There is beauty everywhere. The question is, do we acknowledge it?

avante--
I like this.  It's slightly away from your subject, but I think of the abused and neglected animals, many of them horribly so, who get a second chance in a loving home.  With patience, love and respect, many if not most, can be rehabilitated.  Reminds me of the potter's ability to mold and beautify.  Thanks.

I feel like the artisan you describe
when I am writing about hardcore gangsta rap...many people are blind to its beauty and raw sense of realness...

I keep flashing on the scene of Demi Moore and Patrick Swayze mingling fingers in clay during that sensual scene in "Ghost".
