We are investigating this report very carefully. Based on the report, the problem may be a result of the recent update to the comment editing page.
Security is our top priority, so we are taking this very seriously and will post more information soon. We apologize for the delay, and ask for your patience while we complete the investigation.

True.
One could easily wreak havoc by dropping sh*tty little comments in blogs under another person's name.
Let's get to the bottom of it as soon as possible. In the meantime, if anyone sees a comment from me that is insulting, demeaning, or just doesn't sound like me, let me know.

Sure, you don't have much to gain financially...
but think of the FUN you could have... or revenge upon bloggers?

strat... okay, I found it. LOL That sounds nothing like you.
But I wanted to check to make sure no one played that post a comment in a comment trick... and it seems not since the comment immediately before yours was offbeat herself.

It was in "It's My Life"
"The Time blogging takes away from real life..."
There is a comment there attributed to me that I did not write. It is not bad -- innocuous at worst -- but I simply did not write it.

As I said,
I noticed a comment in Offbeat's blog yesterday attributed to me that I did not write. Is there a network problem, maybe?
I have e-mailed Blog It and they are looking into it, but I imagine others may have had this problem and I hope they report it, too.
I doubt it's identity theft. If it is, then that was a lot of work to get my $4.34. But it may be a problem on the network.
