I can highly recommend exercise for depression. It certainly helped me. I would start by walking though - basically because if you walk in one direction for 15 minutes you have no choice but to walk back again in order to get home, giving you 30 minutes of exercise! I do go to the gym and force myself to do 30 mins on the treadmill and another 7 on a bike. I talk to myself the whole time, sort of like being my own personal trainer - I'm sure everyone else thinks I'm nuts!
