MayB,
Children do change the picture.

Deny a kid a Christmas tree and cookies and the fun, and that would just be wrong.  Children do need to have fun.

Happy New Year to you and your children.

I do try to let "the rest" go. At the moment I enjoy Christmas because I have young children

Passionflower,
I do tend to be a little reclusive.  I'm a writer, and having a refuge from confusion is constructive for writing.

I had to do something, though, so I wouldn't hate Christmas.  I think most people just suffer through it.  I wish things would change so folks would just pick their favorite Christmas stuff and let the rest go.  Sure would make life easier!

Eileen,
You're right, and thank you for reminding me.  It is hard to remember that bad things won't last forever.

God bless you.

I like some of your solutions to a depressing Christmas...
However, if you don't mind me saying this---you sound a little reclusive.

Songbirdshafer,
I couldn't agree with you more!

Songbirdshafer
It's good to think and act positively Songbirdshafer. See this... Cherish things while you still have them, before they're gone. Everything in life is temporary. So if things are going well, enjoy it because it won't last forever. And if things are going bad, don't worry it won't last forever either. Enjoy your christmas and daily life, Songbirdshafer. I remind you and especially me myself as well. Bye my friend. See you.
