Sounds like your'e having a grand Christmas...
Glad you got to enjoy the time with your mom...but sorry about the awful Church service. It looks like people would stop going to churches like that, doesn't it?
(I'd give anything to have my sister back. I'm sorry you have problems with yours.)

Hi Nanaroo!
I wonder if you've ever thought about the Episcopalian church. I'm a baptized Lutheran and have taught in an Episcopal church for the last 14 years. I love it! It's rich with the celebration of saints, and the liturgies are not as stark as the Lutheran ones, especially on Christmas Eve and Easter. The two denominations have now joined hands, so to speak, and have allowed pulpit exchanges. Something to check out if you're interested! I was baptized a Lutheran, but was never confirmed. I'm thinking seriously about being confirmed as an Episcopalian - at the ripe old age of 43~!

Wow, what a smile on your face! One of my ex's is a Lutheran and your right...there is little to get excited about over their services, but glad you had your Mom all to yourself! I often wonder what it would be like to have a Mother in my life at age 56, so reading you gave me an indicator! When I was little, we used to vacation at Lake Arrowhead! Have a great new year!!!

This might sound funny but the one reason l like the Lutheran church is because of its blandness. Sometimes l get the giggles over how dull it is. You really have to dig deep to see the humor and drama. Am pleased to hear you were chosen Santa Lucia even if it was quite a while ago.

If women could become saints because of being burned and tortured by men, we'd have millions of St. Lucias. Merry Christmas and a productive and prosperous New Year to you.
