I hear you!
My coworkers drop off cute festive little bags overflowing with little foil-wrapped time bombs.
I'm reduced to over-bagging them and burying them in my trash.

Editor,
Your post is more true than humorous.
I don't understand the mentality that drives people to do that. Maybe it's an inherent selfishness that these folks just can't stand to be defied. Also, they may be threatened by anyone wanting to be different.
How about we who've read this try to come up with a (hopefully polite) comeback that will stop these offenders dead in their tracks?

Mum--This is such a very good post. When I was losing my
weight (60 lbs), no one took no for an answer. Even hubby bought me an ice cream machine when he knew that ice cream was my downfall! I could have screamed! Actually, I did...

editormum, I had my first experience with this kind of peer pressure at our
staff holiday party last Wed. They had tray upon tray of fried this and fried that. I told the waiitress that I wanted to order from the menu, and she gave me a freakin' menu. then she proceeded to look through me, around me whatever for thirty minutes. Then everyone else ate, and I'm like -- OK I did have my blood pressure under control at one time. Finally she came around and I ordered these lean broiled chicken fajitas with fresh everything. I finally said, "I have to have something with almost no salt." OH, OK!
