Avant-garde,
I love the word, empyrean, I learned it last year from one of Tapsel T's poems.  Heaven itself. Merry Christmas, I have a beautiful day with your family.

I think for those of us who seriously try to live with love in our hearts, there will be oscillation. That is perfectly normal.

Yes, it is but a dream of who we are not.

Forgiveness, the wings of freedom.
Once we forgive our hearts are as light as wings.  Sore through the beautiful blue sky.  God Bless.

Deep thought went into this post

"Learning to forgive is learning to let go of the dream of powerlessness and vulnerability;"

The state you talk of comes and goes for me.

Great post avant. Resentment, revenge, holding onto hurt, etc. equals bondage. Forgiveness equals freedom. Thank you.

to be unforgiving you must be able to hang onto yoru anger and the illusion that someone has done soemthing TO you. When the anger passes as all anger will, you are left with love and hopefully understanding.....the world is peopled by folks who are wounded children, when we put expectations on them, they will fail and disappoint us, as we do them, it is the human condition.........forgiveness gives us wings as you say, and we can fly away from self limiting thoughts. We don't have to be stuck in the mud of our judgements and self righteousness.

Avant -
Beautiful words about one of the ultimate ironies - becoming grounded so that we may soar.
