well, David had a love for Jonathan, Saul's son.
but we have to determine the sex of one or the other or both h ere.
we can only go with what people tell us.
okay -- God made man in his image -- male and female created he them --
so are both male and female in god's image?
could god be both male and female?

my gosh we h ave a lot to consider here.

makes an interesting point.  If lucifer is in love with God, and real Christians can't abide homosexuality, then God is female.

Janes
that's YOUR Heaven
not mine
in fact
there is not case at all anywhere inthe Bible for a heaven.
not one as described.
the Christian Heaven is a very boring, dull, uneventful place.
The Book of Revelation, from which this vision comes is all metaphor.
To insert any literalness into it is pure insanity.

Keep in mind . . .

you're approaching this from a very human perspective, and very conveniently putting God in a box with your limited comprehension of Heaven.

It's pretty difficult to describe the amazing universe that Heaven is and will be -- in finite human terms.  When there is mention in the Bible of a sea of glass -- picture the most awesome, incredible day in the Caribbean, where the water is so crystal clear you can see right through to the sea creatures below -- and the sea of glass in Heaven will be so far beyond compare we cannot even begin to imagine.

Looking at Heaven as you have -- with a very jaded and cynical human construct -- Heaven is, indeed, multiple millions of people worshipping around the throne of a very egotistical god for an eternity.  But you have forgotten that the Bible was written using words that simply cannot begin to fully describe the awesome immensity and pleasure that Heaven will be.

For a better perspective on Heaven, go to www.half.com and type in "Randy Alcorn."  You'll find novels and non-fiction works of his on heaven.  Be prepared to be amazed!!!

I am all for escaping the rational from time to time...

For the sake of fun and pleasure.

But in philosophical discussions, I tend to be very serious because I seek reliable answers.

quit being so serious.
stick to the ludicrous subject here instead of coming up with a more rational alternative.

well allergichobbit
it's like a divorce -- once they loved each other and now they hate each other
but they love eachother too -- and hate at the same time.
there are issues that haven't been resolved yet.
so, actually, both god and lucifer have problems here.
they don't want to have anything to do with each other and yet
they long to be together.
love/hate all at the same time.
maybe they both need counseling
i see a huge post coming here.

To build up God's ego.

No wonder Lucifer had problems with God.

(I think Lucifer is in love with God.  Why else would he stick around where he's not wanted?)

I don't see why it would be boring in heaven.

I was always taught it would be very happy and blissful.

Or maybe heaven is another, better, life on Earth after this one.
