LittleMsP,
I know! Ca88andra said the same thing! Here in the states, we used to call them "thongs" but it doesn't seem to still be called that so often these days. Regardless, they're icky!

something else for your mind to ponder over...
here in Oz, we don't call them flip flops! We call them thongs! And yes a thong (floss that pretends to be underpants) is still a thong in lingerie terms - just a tad confusing don't you think?

Blanche, sorry! I just noticed your next comments....
K, so no, I wasn't the original Spitfire and I don't even know how long ago there was a "Spitfire" cause last year, I actually tried to change my "handle" to
just Spitfire and was denied because someone else (even though they are no longer active and I don't even know when they
were) Seems like it's been a while, though. That's Blogit rules, though. Oh well. Alright, so about the spirit questions. Any time is as good as any. If you don't want to post it in a comment, feel free to privately email it to me. No problem. I've had more than the usual amount of reading appointments lately (not that I'm not grateful, of course!!) But I will certainly respond ASAP.

Lol Spitfire! You wouldn't survive in Australia. Flip flops are called thongs down here and they are practically standard wear for summer. Not only are there the basic variety, but there are now upgraded models suitable for any social situation. I've just bought myself some designer ones that will be worn for Christmas Day and probably New Years Eve too.

Hey, you,
I just did this whole thing, I went to check your blog and typed in Spitfire, completely forgetting that you are "Spitfire70". I just about had a heart attack when I saw "no blogs". Then Offbeats reminded me of your whole name. Whew. Blackcat did the same. Just wanted you to know that your presence is missed.
Besides, I have a question for you, about spirits. Maybe I should email you, but now may not be the time.

I loved mittens as a kid!
I actually own a pair of flip flops, but I don't wear them as functional foot wear. They're more... one kid is drowing another in the pool so you put them on to keep from burning your feet on the patio type of foot wear. You know, that sort of thing.

My boss at my law firm called me Ally McBeal cuz I'd come to work in a full suit, all dressed up with the nice coat, and blue fleece mittens. I cried when I left them on the bus a year later. I did. They were my favorite.
