Talion - those 2 specific words were actually my summation but are
close enough to the general theme. What really dissapointed me was that a few people that I almost never have contact with, jumped in to add consensus. Where no one likes to hear others talking about them in such a fashion, I'm at an age where I have long since stopped worrying about the reality of a few people disliking me. It then becomes pure dissapointment in the individual's that haven't reached a level of maturity where they see that their actions only detract from their own character and not the subject of their derision.

I must admit I often cringe, not so much by what you say, but because of the way you say it. However, I would never call you or imply you are an "insufferable prick" even if I thought you were one. That's rude, and uncalled for. It's ironic that this behavior is exibited by supposedly rational, respectable people. It's the same kind of crap I saw the gangbangers of my old neighborhood spewing all the time. Granted, the stakes are lower because no one is going to end up shot, but there is a such a thing as character assassination. It doesn't make any sense at all.

blackcat30 -- yeah no kidding
Over the last couple of years we have seen it all here. There haven't been many people booted off lately but there were some spells where the behaviour really got out of hand and a few people suffered the ultimate penalty. The sad part is when the flack hits innocent bystanders, or when normally well behaved people are drawn into conflict by others.

It's a lot like life. There will always be someone who needs to take
offense and be heard.  Some just do it more respectfully than others.
