Thanks for reading......and, yes, keeping the individuality was always something I found a way to do! I think by the time I'm through with my butterflies, I'll have a whole "field" across my back....and maybe I'll finally have finished my metamorphasis.....hmmm...

I'm not much of a tattoo fan, but I love your story, of the white ink, and I did not know that the caterpillar becomes goo. That makes it even more symbolic, a complete transmogrification. I had a friend in the telecommunications corporation where we worked, also same age group, who had a tiny nose piercing. I don't know if it caused her trouble, but she seemed to become the target of a clique of women in another state who tried desperately and deviously to oust her, probably age was a factor, she was older, but I'm sure her being different became an issue. Still, finding a way to express your individuality in a discreet way in the corporate world is essential I think.
