John,
I'm thinking optimistically, that if I haven't 'caught fire' yet, then I'll be okay.  Cross Eyed

Hem,

I don't believe I have a too much ambition as it pertains to publishing a book. On the other hand, I'd hate to think about having a manuscript just languishing in a drawer for years. I'll see where my story writing takes me. Where articles and such are concerned, I'm a lot more pro-active in my approach when I do decide to write.

A chapter of a book every week - as well as working for a living?  You are going to burn yourself out, young word.smith.

I do appreciate what you are saying, and I would never knowingly disparage you, but I think, comforting and sensible though it may be, "the best I can with what I have" ultimately will not work in the unbelievably cutthroat competitive world of publishing.
