Cunning

The elipsis (...) can be so easily abused.  A good observation about the media.  Interestingly I  had this duscussion with a friend recently.  He used to do the same thing in his term papers!

Cunning
Actually, I've always kind of enjoyed the fun of reading what they do with the cut and paste reviews...some of them are real artists with the approach....it's kind of the "word search" of the advertising world; and, as you allude to, the great companion game of, "geography" wherein you guess what state that newspaper is in....and for the truly sophisticated, population and "do they have a sheriff or constable"?

Yes
Those reviews are often doctored. It is pretty silly.

Hello, Darlin'.

I'm confused..."This is the best movie to come out about King Kong this year..."  Uh, I'm guessing this will be the ONLY King Kong movie to come out this year.  Ya think?

Missing you, my sweet friend!  I'm looking forward to getting the holidays over with so I can get back on here regularly.  It fascinates me how much I think of so many of you ALL THE TIME.  Hope you're staying healthy and continuing to write, write, write!  XO

funny...

I knew a CunningLinguist before (well actually I've 'known' a few, but this time I mean in the username sense) and you really threw me there (again in the username sense). But it's not you. Although...you said you aren't him - a fact I'm choosing to ignore on the grounds that it confuses me too much.

And spank you very much for your kind words.

Smoking pot makes me...

...um...uh...Oh hell, I forget!

I think movie reviewers should bag the whole 'If you can't say something nice...' thing. Screw that! If the movie sucks, tell it like it is and save me the freakin' ten bucks! Brutal honesty, dammit; that's what I want!

Cunning Linguist's post a mega hit...
And speaking of a mega hit, I keep getting my High Times Magazine confused with The Colostomy Rag.  The trouble starts when I roll up a big doobie with a page from CR and end up blowing smoke up my own ass!  What was I saying?

CL,
I think some studio got busted for hiring reviewers to write their own.  Wouldn't surprise me in the least. When it comes to truth in advertising and movies, fugedaboutit.  I wait for the dvd.

You made me laugh outloud.
Not many people can do that. By the way Cunning, the other shoe will not drop. Sam

Surely I can think of a clever review-type tag line for the subject of your post.  Nah, I can't.  I'm spent.  Good to see you around!

All rags sound naughty. I'm glad to see you around again.
