Gomedome sir,
I'm new here - and on account of posts and blogs such as yours (and a few others, that I've so far discovered) - I feel extremely privileged to be a part of Blogit.
I endeavour to ensure that my contributions to this community will be up to the standard set by the likes of yourself.
And - unrelated to this particular post of yours - I love your 'controversial' posts. It's hard-edged thinking like that which in my opinion are the axes which the world revolves around. In significant part, at least.
Take care - and keep up the good work!

Masky - you are too kind - thank you
Poverty is a state of mind but one cannot overlook the prison it forms for those caught in it.

Ariala -- Can you imagine the mortification my wife felt in years gone bye
when I would come home from the office, jump out of my shirt and tie, slip into some overalls and head out in my old beat up pick up truck? The mortification dissapeared over the years. Right about the time my junk dealing on the side, surpassed my full time salary. I wonder if that was just a coincedence?

Gomedome...
I really, really, really, really, REALLY enjoy reading you.
I believe that poverty is a temporary condition. I believe anybody HAS the ability and CAN pull themselves out of poverty. It requires a paradigm shift. You've demonstrated this in the descriptions of your life. Kudos to you! Poverty doesn't breed poverty. Greed, laziness and ignorance breeds poverty. And, unfortunately, many people use poverish life styles as EXCUSES. What amazes me is that though poverty can't be erased immdiately, it takes some people years, decades, to overcome, but it can be done.

Gome, LOL! Although I came from a family with a nice share of
money, though not wealthy, I sort of snubbed my nose at it all and went off on my own. I've had more fun making my own way, and part of it, as you know, was from junk (on the smaller scale than you) and turning a profit from it. Mostly though, it was from profiting from my creativity which I was discouraged all my life from pursuing. Tell me not to do it, and well, sorry, I will...my rebelliousness has served me well, LOL
