Great minds indeed. I've grappled with the whole bookworm, nerd, geek, nice guy stereotype my whole life, so in a way, I know what you mean. Being black results in pigeon holes of another kind. They say if the shoe fits, wear it, but what if it's just a half-size too small? You can get your feet in, even walk around, but eventually, it hurts like hell.

Haha. Thanks. Perhaps it's a sign to write about carrier pigeons ;-)?

The only cubby holes are the professional vocations. Then again, workers are multi-tasking now.

Yes, MayB, I have noticed that. It is very exasperating when someone does that.

I used to think that it was young, inexperienced people who were the
pigeonholers, but we all do it to some extent. And then, I heard that listening is something that people in general do less of as they get older, so it is something that we should all perhaps beware of doing to others.

The problem with pigeonholes is that
once you are put inside one, you rarely get out.

I hate confinement, although I've been guilty, too, of doing the same. When I'm in a more expansive frame of mind, I try to consider the pidgeonhole the sole construction of the pidgeonholer--even if the builder is me. Hard thing to do, in either case.

Maayb, It's the norm rather than the exception. Makes it easy for others t
to deal with life. Not necessarily intentionally but it can be.
