While I don't regret my 2004 decision, I no longer consider myself a Republican (first registered in 1976-I remember debating Nixon/McGovern!-so it wasn't an easy decision).  Neither am I a Democrat.  I won't abstain from voting in the future-let's just say I will look at ALL candidates carefully before voting (although, to be frank, the lesser of two evils philosophy doesn't appear to be going away!).  These are great posts-I'm going to your next one!

I am with Jane on this one, and Kingmi too! He is a piece of work all right..I will never forget when "Swift boat" came back and blew up in his face..He crossed Boston Harbour with 5 or 6 bands of brothers..There were another few thousand that said it "just didn't happen."  That man was born to lie and he has perfected it!

Excellent post as usual!!

I'm a registered Democrat and I don't view the military that way at all. Nor do I support Senator Kerry's position, which as you stated, he has none. I agree with you. He will never get the nomination again. He is a poor candidate, without ability to connect or put forth his views. It seems to me that there is a big difference between a Democrat and a Republican and an extreme left wing liberal or an extreme right wing conservative. I share some ideals with the right and some with the left, and i consider neither to hold a manopoly on whats good for our country or our world. Neither are showing me much of late.

Thank you for stopping by!

I hope you don't regret the decision you made in 2004........I shudder at the thought of what we may be facing had that man been elected.......

Sec. of Defense Howard Dean?  Sec. of State Michael Moore?  Sec. of Treasury Al Sharpton?   Whew!

All politicians are scumbags, but Kerry is "King of Scumbags"
I hold out hope for an answer or some shred of common sense.  But, Kerry's lunacy goes over the edge.  In 2004, I voted for the lesser of two evils.  At first, I didn't know what to do but I knew I didn't want to vote for the GREATER of two evils, either.  My, my, my.....  Thanks for the post!

I don't understand anything about Iraq anymore, no matter

if it is Kerry, Bush, Clinton, McCain, Murtha, Liebermen, Republican, Democrat and so on and so on, I honestly don't think either party has a plan. Right now no matter what party, there is to much disagreement amongst themselves and when we leave Iraq, Iraq will collapse in civil war.

The troops are doing their best and basically are just holding their own to stay alive. How many times can we go back into cities like Fallujah over and over to take back the town? We can send a kid to bootcamp and then advanced training and have him in battle within5-6 months but we can't get the Iraqis trained in three years.

Sit back for five minutes and ponder the notion of Kerry as our Commander in Chief.  Now (after gagging and puking for 10 minutes), can you even begin to imagine such a dreadful possibility?

Thank God for HUGE favors!
