Oh, how sweet children are.  It tears my heart out, too, when a moment of disilllusionment is imminent for my son.

A sad but charming
tableaux of childhood. I was that child too, once.

I know you had to feel bad for him.. Their little minds are so sweet and innocent.

word,
i'm glad I haven't faced that yet - but I'm sure it will come soon - maybe it is lucky that I have my two little ones birthday's so close together - they won't have to wait too long between parties...

When I teach afterschool art

little kids come when there siblings are being picked up.  I let them join in for free.  Saving the money just isn't worth watching those lil' trickles dribblin' down de lil' faces!

I am sure no woman in the world would not allow one more helping for another kid?  Kids are good

Thanks Katray..
That's it right there. They really don't know why they can't be part of the party. I guess friendliness is part of what we lose when we grow up. My son makes new friends everywhere he goes.  I wonder when we start becoming so reserved that we can't reach out to others.

He got over it in a few minutes.

Lol Word
Sounds like something my little Dakota would do - actually he did once.;) It is difficult for them to grasp that they're not invited to every party. Ah, the joys of growing up. Glad you're reconnected.
