I can identify with the respect you have for this man
Without saying it in so many words you show a deep respect for this individual and his talent as a teacher. I had a teacher once I would liken him to. I credit his influence as one of the main reasons I stayed out of prison. Almost caught up with your postings.

My most revered teacher was a Brasilian Indian woman who demanded
more from me than any other teacher and taught me more and set a standard for me to use when judging other teachers. She used humor and discipline equally, the key. Our school is sending her (now retired) to Fatima in Portugal, her dream voyage.
